AMERICAN RED CROSS LEARN TO SWIM PROGRAM |
|
The Learn to Swim Program starts at age 3 and can progress through adulthood. As I'm sure most parents are aware, teaching children to swim is a must for the North Florida area. Children certainly benefit from the enjoyment and exercise of swimming but more importantly we have to consider their safety. Children are screened the first day of class and put into a group based on ability. Classes generally have a 6 student to 1 teacher ratio and last 40 minutes. Classes generally run Monday through Thursday for 2 weeks with Friday as the rainy day make-up. Parents are encouraged to sit on the deck and to talk to the instructors before and after lessons. The following is a list of some of the skills that will be covered in the Learn to Swim Program: Water Adjustment Activities
